Norristown, PA — A Community Says Goodbye to a Beloved Son
The Norristown community is mourning the loss of Joseph M. “Joey” Gallo, who passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was just 33 years old. Joey’s passing marks not only the end of a courageous two-year battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer, but also the loss of a vibrant young man deeply rooted in his hometown and loved by many.
Born in Norristown on October 11, 1991, Joey was a lifelong resident whose warmth, loyalty, and generosity touched the lives of countless people. He worked at Gallo Brothers Developments Inc., the family-owned construction and development company known throughout Montgomery County for its community-oriented projects.
Those who knew Joey say he brought a rare mix of strength and compassion to both his professional and personal life. His colleagues described him as a “natural problem-solver with a heart for people,” someone who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, even during his illness.
A Life Rooted in Family and Faith
Joey was the beloved son of Dawn (DiLullo) Gallo and the late Alfonzo “Funz” Gallo. He was surrounded by a close-knit family that defined much of his life and values. He leaves behind his devoted siblings — Ashley Razzano (and her husband Gerald, with daughters Naomi and Olivia), Lauren DiBussolo (and her husband Michael, with children Gianna and Michael J.), and Michael Gallo (and partner Mia Leflar).
He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Joseph DiLullo, and paternal grandmother, Barbara Gallo, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward.
Friends say Joey’s deep connection to family mirrored his commitment to his community — one that often blurred the line between business and brotherhood. “He treated everyone like family,” said a representative from Giannone Companies Towing Enforcement, which worked closely with Joey on multiple projects. “Joey was more than a partner; he was a friend who showed up for you, no matter the circumstances.”
“More Than a Friend to Our Team”
Following the news of Joey’s passing, Giannone Companies shared a heartfelt public tribute that captured the sentiments of many across Norristown’s business and social circles:
“Our company is deeply grieved by the loss of Joey Gallo. His courageous battle with pancreatic cancer has humbled and moved us all. Joey was more than a friend to our team—an ally who stood by us in any construction equipment recovery, always ready to help in any way he could. It’s hard to fathom such a bright, young, talented person leaving us so soon. We will carry Joey’s kindness, resilience, and spirit in everything we do.”
Their words reflect what many in Norristown already knew: Joey’s quiet strength and willingness to help others were as enduring as his smile.
A Final Farewell
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Saviour Church, located at 407 E. Main Street, Norristown, PA. The Gallo family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., prior to the Mass. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
The service is expected to draw a large turnout from across Montgomery County — a testament to Joey’s enduring influence and the love he inspired.
A Legacy of Courage and Community
Joey’s battle with cancer, faced with unwavering courage and grace, has left an indelible mark on Norristown. His story is a reminder of how strength can manifest quietly — through perseverance, kindness, and a commitment to others, even in the face of great adversity.
As the community gathers to say goodbye, one thing is clear: Joseph “Joey” Gallo’s spirit will continue to build more than just homes — it will build hearts.
