Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian health and wellness community is mourning the sudden death of Diana Areas, a 39-year-old nutritionist and social media influencer, who died after falling from her apartment building in the Parque Tamandaré neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, Nov. 13. Areas, known for sharing fitness and nutrition content with over 200,000 Instagram followers, was discovered in a communal area of the Unique Towers condominium after reportedly leaving a local hospital earlier that morning.
According to reports from Noticia Urbana and Ururau, Areas had been admitted to Ferreira Machado Hospital around 6:30 a.m. with injuries described as cuts on her body. Despite being in “moderate condition,” she reportedly left the hospital without being discharged. Authorities were called to the scene by her partner after the fall, and the Civil Police of Campos dos Goytacazes have launched an investigation into the incident. As of now, the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear, with no official cause publicly confirmed.
Friends, followers, and the broader online community have expressed shock and grief over Areas’ passing. On Instagram, many posted tributes, sharing messages of sorrow and remembrance. One follower wrote in Portuguese, “Rest in peace my friend. May you calm your soul down there with our father. Sorry we couldn’t help you. 🖤” Another added, “I can’t believe you’re gone. Rest in peace beautiful. 😭😢”
