“As many of you know, she was on the autism spectrum,” Ethan said. “While that made her life very difficult, it also allowed her to hyperfocus on one thing—and that one thing was animals.”
From a young age, Mikayla was known for rescuing injured wildlife and helping creatures others overlooked. That early compassion led to the creation of Save A Fox Rescue, an organization dedicated to rehoming and rehabilitating foxes and other exotic animals rescued from the fur trade and illegal pet ownership.
