Brown was reported missing on May 27 after a witness contacted emergency services near Oroville, Washington. Authorities later determined that the individual seen in the Okanogan River was Brown.
Following a multi-day search effort, Brown’s body was recovered on May 30 and subsequently identified by officials. The coroner’s report indicated that his remains would be released to family members for funeral and memorial arrangements.
In the days after his disappearance, Brown’s younger brother, Bear Brown, shared updates with supporters on social media as the family awaited confirmation from authorities.
