Bentley Souza Accident, Death Fall River, MA — Bentley Souza, a high school student at Atlantis Charter School, has tragically died following a dirt bike accident near the school, officials confirmed.
The Fall River Police Department reported Tuesday that a juvenile had been involved in a serious crash while riding a dirt bike. On Wednesday, Atlantis Charter School shared the heartbreaking news that Bentley did not survive the accident.
In a statement, Executive Director Robert Beatty expressed the school community’s sorrow:
“On behalf of our entire school community, I share my deepest condolences with all who knew Bentley, but especially his family and close friends, who are enduring an unimaginable loss at this time.”
In the wake of the tragedy, the school made grief counseling services available for students and staff on Wednesday.
That evening, dozens of community members gathered for a vigil in Bentley’s honor. Balloons were released, and candles were lit as classmates, teachers, and loved ones remembered his life and shared in the grief of his passing.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
