North Providence Family Mourns 2-Year-Old Eyren Brito Pacheco Killed in Dominican Republic Hit-and-Run

Eyren Brito Pacheco Accident, Death North Providence, RI — A local family is grieving the tragic loss of Eyren Ezequiel Brito Pacheco, a 2-year-old boy who was killed in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month while visiting family in the Dominican Republic.

According to a GoFundMe page organized by the mother’s employer, Eyren was in a parking lot with his grandmother and great-grandmother when a driver reversed into them, allegedly hitting the gas pedal by mistake. Eyren was killed at the scene, and both women suffered serious injuries. The driver initially fled but was later apprehended and taken into custody.

Eyren’s mother, Ambar Pacheco, a real estate agent with Real Vision Properties in Cranston, had stayed behind in Rhode Island while her husband and children traveled abroad.

“It’s probably one of the toughest things I’ve ever heard about,” said Matthew Patty, managing partner at Real Vision Properties. “Especially—we have a 2-year-old at home ourselves.”

The team launched a GoFundMe campaign to assist the family with funeral costs, travel expenses, and lost income. As of Wednesday afternoon, the fundraiser had raised more than $2,700 toward its $16,000 goal.

“She’s a good mom, a rising star in the business,” Patty said of Ambar. “We’re doing what we can to support her through an unimaginable time.”

A funeral service for Eyren was held in the Dominican Republic over the weekend.

“Hopefully the silver lining for Ambar and her family is knowing they’re not alone,” Patty added.
