Claire Lucido, a gifted actress and imaginative writer whose work touched both screen and page, passed away on June 10 following a prolonged illness. She was 38.
Her passing was confirmed by her husband, Ted, who shared a heartfelt tribute: “I’m incredibly sad to share that my love, Claire Lucido, passed away last night. She was my light, full of song and laughter. We married on November 8 in a small ceremony. I already miss her terribly, but her soulfulness and her silliness will always be a part of me.”
Claire’s artistic journey took many forms. As an actress, she brought depth and vitality to every role, including her memorable appearance as a “Bright Young Thing” in dramatized scenes for the documentary Teenage. Her presence on set was described by collaborators as vibrant and full of character.
But it was as a writer and researcher that Claire truly revealed the full range of her creativity. For over a year, she collaborated on a blog that explored hidden histories and unconventional stories, digging into topics that others might have overlooked. A fellow collaborator recalled, “She was an imaginative researcher who found idiosyncratic subjects and forgotten histories. I knew when I met her that she was wildly creative and original.”
Her writing was not only intellectually curious but emotionally resonant—blending historical insight with personal connection. Her blog entries, still accessible online, stand as a testament to her unique voice and passion for storytelling.
Claire’s passing has left a deep void among her friends, colleagues, and the creative communities she was part of. Her work, both seen and read, continues to inspire those who knew her and many who never had the chance to meet her.
She is remembered not only for her talent but for her warmth, her laughter, and the unmistakable sparkle she brought into every space she entered.
Claire Lucido is survived by her husband Ted, her family, and countless friends and admirers who will carry her light forward in their hearts.
Rest in peace, Claire. Your creativity lives on.
