Josh Waring of Afghanistan: Honoring a Veteran, Electrician, and Family Man

Afghanistan – It is with profound sadness that we remember the life of Josh Waring — a devoted husband, loving father, selfless veteran, and steadfast community leader. Josh passed away recently, leaving behind an enduring legacy rooted in compassion, strength, and unwavering service.

A veteran of the war in Afghanistan, Josh served his country with distinction before returning home to build a life grounded in purpose. He went on to found Waring Electrical, earning the respect of peers and customers alike through his skill, integrity, and dedication. As a proud member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he remained deeply committed to his trade and his team.

Josh’s heart for service extended beyond his profession. As a volunteer firefighter in Delaware, he put others first—time and time again—saving lives and stepping into danger without hesitation. Whether wiring a home or rushing into a burning one, Josh lived by a simple truth: helping others was always worth it.

At the core of Josh’s life was his beloved family. His wife Kate was not only his partner but his best friend, their bond admired by all who knew them. Together, they raised three beautiful children — Charlotte, Annabelle, and Blake — who carry forward his compassion, humor, and strength.

Those closest to Josh will remember his steady presence, generous spirit, and the light he brought into every space. “I will miss you, buddy,” a close friend shared. “Thanks for being there for Sam and me all these years.”

As we mourn, we also give thanks for the life of a man who gave so much — to his family, his friends, and his country. Josh Waring’s legacy is not only in the lives he saved or the homes he lit up, but in the love and courage he left behind.

Please keep Kate, Charlotte, Annabelle, Blake, and the entire Waring family in your thoughts and prayers. Josh, your legacy will continue to shine.
