Raymond Boodarian, 22, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the deaths of music supervisor Robin Kaye and her partner, Tom DeLuca. The couple was found shot multiple times inside their multimillion-dollar Beverly Crest home on Sunday, July 14.
Emerging reports reveal that Kaye had expressed concerns about her safety in the weeks leading up to the incident. According to NBC affiliate KNBC-TV, she had contacted a private security firm in Beverly Hills about a suspicious individual seen around the neighborhood.
“She felt threatened by someone—possibly a person seen near their home or in the area—who seemed suspicious,” said Kris Herzog, owner of the Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the couple’s $5 million property had been the subject of a reported burglary on July 10. Fox News Digital also reported an attempted break-in at the same location approximately a month earlier.
Mauro Quintero, who maintained the couple’s pool, recalled DeLuca discussing a prior intrusion attempt.
“Tom told me someone had tried to break in, and their dog woke up barking,” Quintero said.
Following the incident, DeLuca reportedly installed additional warning signs on the property. A neighbor, Amee Faggen, claimed she saw someone attempting to climb over the home’s fence just a week before the fatal attack.
While authorities have yet to confirm any direct link between Boodarian and the earlier incidents, they believe the Encino resident scaled the home’s eight-foot perimeter wall—topped with metal spikes—and entered through an unlocked door.
Investigators suspect Boodarian was inside the residence for up to 30 minutes before the couple returned home. Surveillance footage led to his identification and subsequent arrest. A motive for the crime remains unclear.
Disturbing details from the scene revealed that the home’s sliding glass door had been shattered and blood was discovered at the front entrance. Kaye’s body was found in the pantry, while DeLuca’s remains were located in a bathroom.
The luxury property, previously owned by late rapper Juice WRLD, was purchased by Kaye and DeLuca in 2023.
Robin Kaye was a longtime music supervisor for American Idol and had worked on more than 200 episodes since 2009. The show’s producers expressed profound grief over her death.
“Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
Kaye also worked on The Singing Bee (2007–2011) and received the Best Music Supervision in Reality Television award at the 2014 Guild of Music Supervisors Awards.
Her sudden, tragic death has left a deep void in the entertainment community and beyond.
