Obituary: Brandon Dolce, CTE Computer Science teacher at Cox Mill High School in Harrisburg, Succumbs Suddenly

HARRISBURG, N.C.Brandon Dolce, 34, who passed away suddenly on July 17, 2025. A dedicated CTE Computer Science teacher at Cox Mill High School and the beloved “taproom hero” at Percent Small Batch Brewery, Brandon was a vibrant spark whose kindness, knowledge, and humor enriched every environment he entered.

At Percent Small Batch Brewery, Brandon was far more than a staff member. He was its heart and soul, the colleague who debugged POS systems between welcoming patrons, cracked jokes to break the ice, and bore heartfelt empathy after a long shift. As one coworker reflected, he “gave of himself in ways big and small—every single day,” and that consistent generosity made him unforgettable.

In the taproom, Brandon’s warmth turned strangers into friends. He had a knack for picking up on a rough day and offering a safe ear or a smart quip that lifted spirits. Known affectionately as the “brewery heartbeat,” his presence was felt in every pint he poured and every conversation he nurtured.

But it wasn’t only through craft beer that Brandon inspired; he brought the same devotion to the classroom as a CTE computer science instructor at Cox Mill High School in nearby Concord. With academic credentials from Buffalo State University, Fredonia, and SUNY JCC, he fostered a love of coding and creative problem-solving among students. Known for his balance of northern sarcasm and warm humor, he made complex concepts accessible and encouraged young learners to stretch beyond their comfort zone.

Colleagues remember him as a mentor who connected through private jokes, words of encouragement, or simply being present. “His loyalty shone brightest when it mattered most,” reads one tribute, a testament to the quiet strength that defined him.

Outside of work, Brandon was a steady friend and community fixture—showing up not just in his roles, but for people. Whether troubleshooting tech issues, lending moral support, or just sharing a laugh, he left a ripple of care that now carries forward as part of his lasting impact.

He is survived by his wife, Krystal, their children, and a wide circle of friends, students, and brewery patrons who considered him family. A memorial is being organized at Cox Mill High School, with additional celebrations of life planned by the Percent team—where laughter, stories, and taproom toasts will unite hearts in remembrance.

Honoring Brandon Dolce

Brandon’s legacy lives in the lines of code written by his students, the community atmosphere he fostered, and the genuine connection he made at every turn. In Harrisburg and beyond, people will carry forward his example: troubleshooting with patience, serving with humor, and lifting others through acts of quiet kindness.

Hollywood says “leave the world better than you found it”—Brandon lived that ethos daily. Though he’s gone far too soon, the care he shared will echo in taprooms, computer labs, and every thoughtful gesture inspired by his example.

Rest in peace, Brandon Dolce. Your work—and your heart—live on in all of us.
