Known for his athletic ability, leadership, and infectious smile, Harris’s passing has left teammates, coaches, and family heartbroken across North Texas.
Harris, a member of the Class of 2025, had recently committed to Seminole State College, where he planned to continue his baseball career at the collegiate level. Friends describe him as a dedicated student-athlete with big dreams and a work ethic to match — someone who led by example both on and off the field.
A Rising Star Gone Too Soon
Family friend Ida Marie shared an emotional post on Facebook expressing the shock felt throughout the community:
“My heart is absolutely shattered. Denim wasn’t just a family friend — he was family. A phenomenal athlete and an even better person. Losing him at such a young age is beyond heartbreaking.”
She went on to describe Denim as “respectful, humble, and full of light,” adding that his “smile, energy, and legacy will live on forever.”
Harris was well-known among his peers for his natural talent — quick on the bases, powerful in the outfield, and consistent at the plate. Coaches and teammates say he played the game “with passion, heart, and purpose,” earning respect not just for his skill, but for his sportsmanship.

The Texas Stix Baseball Club, one of the top travel programs in the state, also paid tribute, writing:
