DALLAS, TEXAS — Three people were taken to a hospital after a multi-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler on the Dallas North Tollway in Dallas on Friday, September 25, 2026, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue and the North Texas Tollway Authority.
The crash happened at about 11 a.m. on the southbound Dallas North Tollway near Northwest Highway (Loop 12). An 18-wheeler struck several vehicles before hitting a wall and overturning. Initial reports indicated that up to six vehicles were involved.
Three people hospitalized
Three people were transported to a hospital in stable condition after the collision. Those injured included a man and woman in their 30s and a woman in her 20s. Their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
No fatalities were reported in connection with the crash.
Diesel spill triggers HazMat response
The overturned truck also created a hazardous-materials response after its saddle tanks were ruptured. Approximately 170 gallons of diesel spilled onto the roadway, prompting Dallas Fire-Rescue’s HazMat team to respond.
Crews also worked to contain other fluids carried by the truck, including used cooking oil from totes.
Investigation and traffic disruption
Southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway were closed while emergency crews responded to the collision, treated injured people and worked to clear the scene. Traffic in the area was heavily disrupted, with additional lane closures affecting motorists.
The North Texas Tollway Authority advised drivers to avoid the area while crews managed the crash and cleanup.
Authorities had not immediately released a cause for the collision. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, and further details may be released as officials complete their review.
