GREENACRES, Florida: The two pilots killed in the November 1, 2026, Learjet 60 crash in Palm Beach County have been identified as Captain Jeff Gregory and his 20-year-old co-pilot, Nathalia G. Filgueiras.
Gregory was identified by a spokesperson for East Coast Jets, a private charter company where he previously worked between 2016 and 2017. The company expressed deep sorrow following confirmation of his death, remembering him as a member of its professional aviation community.
“We are deeply saddened to learn that Captain Jeff Gregory was among those who lost their lives in yesterday’s tragic aviation accident in Palm Beach,” the company said in a statement.
The message also extended condolences to Gregory’s family, his fellow crew member, the passengers and everyone affected by the disaster.
Filgueiras was identified by family members following the crash. At just 20 years old, she had already developed a strong connection to aviation, having earned her pilot’s licence at 17.
Her passion for flying began through her father, who is also a pilot and introduced her to aviation. Her early achievement reflected years of dedication to pursuing a career in the profession.
The two pilots were operating a Bahamas-bound Learjet 60 carrying seven passengers when the aircraft crashed in Greenacres, approximately seven miles southwest of West Palm Beach. All nine people aboard died.
The accident also caused significant disruption in the surrounding residential community. Hundreds of residents faced the aftermath of the crash, with some forced to spend the night in emergency shelters as authorities coordinated recovery and safety operations.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), assisted by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Investigators are examining flight conditions, aircraft performance and possible mechanical or weather-related factors. The official cause has yet to be determined.
As the investigation continues, tributes to Gregory and Filgueiras highlight the human loss behind the devastating aviation disaster.
