Ontario – Logan Anthony Stevens, a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and grandson, whose spirited presence touched the hearts of all who knew him. Born in Nova Scotia and cherished mostly in Ontario, Logan left us too soon, but he filled our lives with light from his first breath.
From his earliest days, Logan’s big, bright brown eyes lit up every room he entered. These weren’t just physical features—they reflected a curiosity and warmth that defined every aspect of his life. A natural-born artist, he translated his wonder into drawing, capturing landscapes, wildlife, and fleeting moments with an illustrator’s grace.
A lover of the outdoors, Logan was passionate about baseball, hunting, and fishing—pastimes that brought him joy and connected him with family, friends, and nature. He relished the thrill of the pitch, the challenge of the catch, and the tranquility of lakeside mornings. Whether casting a line or tracking footprints, Logan found purpose in these hobbies, weaving memories that will forever linger in the hearts of his loved ones.
Logan’s bond with reptiles was unique and endearing. He felt a quiet kinship with these scaled creatures, whether caring for a pet snake or simply studying their graceful movements. His affinity for reptiles, subtle and patient, became a metaphor for his own gentle and attentive spirit.
Though he spent most of his life in Ontario, Nova Scotia remained a cherished part of his story. It was there, in the lush landscapes of his birth province, that he forged his identity and gathered treasured memories with the Stevens and Derrick families. Those early years left an imprint on his heart that time could never erase.
He is survived by a loving extended family: his mother, Jennifer Bayers (Greg); father, PJ Chartrand; devoted sisters Brooke and Serenity; grandparents Keith Bayers (Brenda) and Donna Mills (Max); his great-grandma; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who held him close. He was predeceased by his cousin Addison, whose memory he carried with him.
Over the past decade, Logan waged a courageous battle with addiction—a chronic illness that tested his resolve. Yet through his struggle, he never lost his warm laugh, his heartfelt sensitivity, or the profound love he held for his family. “Addiction is a monster. It lives inside you, and sometimes no matter how hard you fight, it wins. But it doesn’t define your soul,” Logan once shared, acknowledging his own vulnerability with remarkable honesty. In this quote, we find the resilient and self-aware man we remember.
The Stevens family extends its deepest gratitude to the ICU health care team at Ottawa Civic Hospital. Their compassion, kindness, and unwavering support during Logan’s final hours provided comfort and dignity when it mattered most.
A celebration of Logan’s life will be held at a later date. When details are confirmed, we will share arrangements so all who loved him can come together—to laugh, to weep, and to honor the precious life he led.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Logan’s memory to the MESSA Team in Pembroke, Ontario. This community‑based program supports individuals and families affected by addiction—reflecting Logan’s own journey and the family’s hope to spark recovery, awareness, and healing for others. Donating to MESSA is a way to keep Logan’s spirit alive: generous, determined, and reaching out to help others.
Logan Anthony Stevens was more than the sum of his passions—though he was a talented drawing artist, an avid baseball fan, a devoted fisherman and hunter, and a gentle reptile lover. He was, first and always, a deeply loving soul whose life ended too soon but whose impact remains forever. He held tight to family, found solace in nature, and met adversity with grace.
As we mourn Logan’s passing, let us also celebrate his life: each line in a sketch, each quiet dawn by the lake, each heartfelt admission of struggle and the fierce love he carried despite it. As a young man of 22, he showed us what it means to be brave against life’s loudest battles, yet tender in every connection he made.
We invite all of Logan’s friends, teammates, fellow adventurers, and loved ones to join us—for the shared grief and for the stories, smiles, and memories. Logan’s light may have dimmed in this world, but his spirit will continue to inspire kindness, courage, and an enduring love for the simple joys that defined his journey.
