Athens, GA – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Megan Beth Twist (Bernotas) on November 28, 2016, at the age of 23. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend with deep family connections that touched communities including Rhode Island through extended relatives.
Megan was known for her radiant spirit, infectious joy, and ability to light up every room she entered. A talented and driven young woman, she excelled academically as an honors graduate of Prince Avenue Christian School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Public Relations from Georgia Southern University. Her compassion and generosity left an indelible mark, most profoundly through her decision to become an organ donor — a gift that brought life and hope to multiple recipients and continues to inspire others.
She will be dearly missed by her loving parents Roy Twist and Barbara Twist Bernotas, her sisters Jane, Katy, and Carolyn and their families, her grandparents, and a wide circle of relatives and friends who cherished her warmth and vibrant personality.
