NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE, ENGLAND — Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known to fans as Pac in AEW and previously as Neville in WWE, has died at 40. All Elite Wrestling announced his death on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The company did not disclose a cause of death.
Satterley began his professional wrestling career in 2004 and became known for his high-flying style and athletic performances. He worked for promotions including Dragon Gate and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla before joining WWE in 2012, where he performed as Neville.
WWE career
During his WWE run, Satterley became an important figure in the company’s cruiserweight and developmental divisions. He won the NXT Championship, NXT Tag Team Championship and WWE Cruiserweight Championship before leaving WWE in 2018.
His time in WWE established the ring name Neville, while his later AEW career under the name Pac brought him back to a prominent position in professional wrestling.
AEW career
Satterley joined AEW in 2019 and became the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion, a title later renamed the AEW International Championship. He also won the AEW World Trios Championship twice and became associated with the Death Riders faction.
His final match came just one day before his death at AEW All Out in Chicago on September 26. Pac challenged Andrade El Ídolo for the AEW National Championship in the opening match. Andrade retained the title after pinning Pac.
Pac also appeared later during the night’s main event involving AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and Jon Moxley, according to the event results.
Wrestling community mourns
AEW described Satterley as a performer who captivated audiences with innovative high-flying moves and praised his contributions to the company. The promotion extended condolences to his family, friends and fans.
His death came shortly after his final AEW appearance, bringing an unexpected end to a wrestling career that spanned more than two decades across independent wrestling, WWE and AEW.
