Reagan May, Milford, PA, Obituary: Community Mourns Junior Firefighter & North Pocono Student

The Milford Fire Department and EMS (Station 33) has announced with “deep sorrow” the passing of Junior Firefighter Reagan May, a young and promising member of the department whose dedication to community service left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, the department wrote:

“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Junior Firefighter Reagan May. Please keep Reagan, and the entire May family, in your thoughts and prayers.”

While details surrounding her death have not been publicly disclosed, the announcement has sparked an outpouring of grief and tributes from friends, classmates, and neighboring fire departments across Pennsylvania.

Reagan was a student at North Pocono High School, where she was known for her enthusiasm, leadership, and commitment to helping others. As part of the junior firefighter program, she had already begun serving her community in meaningful ways—balancing schoolwork, training, and volunteer service.

“Reagan embodied what it means to give back,” one community member commented online. “She was young, but her spirit was mature—always first to step up when someone needed a hand.”

Her passing has deeply affected the tight-knit firefighting community, where mentorship and camaraderie often extend beyond the station walls. Junior firefighter programs like Milford’s are designed to nurture the next generation of emergency responders, teaching responsibility, teamwork, and service—values that Reagan reportedly embraced wholeheartedly.

Local residents have since organized candlelight tributes and remembrance posts, celebrating her kindness and compassion. Many have also shared messages urging others to support youth volunteer initiatives, honoring Reagan’s legacy by inspiring others to serve.

Though gone far too soon, Reagan May’s impact endures—in her peers, her mentors, and the community she helped protect. Her story serves as a poignant reminder of the selflessness that defines first responders, even at a young age.

The Milford Fire Department has asked the public to continue keeping the May family in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this profound loss.
