Spencer Lesinski, known for his booming laugh, fearless energy, and ability to turn even the quietest gathering into a celebration, has died. He was 24.
Those who knew him say Spencer was impossible to forget — a force of nature whose warmth drew people in instantly. Whether he was cracking jokes, dancing without inhibition, organizing spontaneous adventures, or grabbing the microphone for karaoke, Spencer had a gift for making people feel alive. Once you met him, you were part of his circle.
Born July 10, 2001, to Kevin and Kimberley Skelton Lesinski, Spencer grew up in Greene County and graduated from Waynesburg Central High School. He went on to serve in the U.S. Marines before returning home, where he worked with TruCore out of Point Marion.
Family members describe him as fiercely loyal and endlessly generous, someone whose spirit filled every room he walked into. “His energy was contagious — you couldn’t help but laugh when he was around,” relatives shared.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin and Kim; his brother, Brenden; his grandparents, Martha Atwell and Don and Marilyn Lesinski; aunts and uncles Kelley Garrett, Michelle King (Tim), and Bill Skelton; and cousins Devon Garrett, Trevor King (Kristen), Cole Garrett (Taylor), Cassidy King, and Riley King (Gwen). He was predeceased by his grandparents William and Connie Skelton and Thomas Atwell, as well as his great-grandmother, Julia Lesinski.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 1 to 6 p.m. at Behm Funeral Home in Waynesburg, followed by a service at 6 p.m. officiated by Pastor Jay Buckhalter. Military funeral honors will be provided by the Greene County Honor Guard.
In keeping with his faith, Spencer’s family points to the words of scripture: “But the Lord stood by my side and gave me strength.”
