The couple shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, revealing that their baby girl passed away on Sunday, October 26, just days after the Dodgers advanced to the World Series.
“Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday, October 26th,” the Vesias wrote. “There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through, but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.”
Vesia, one of the Dodgers’ most reliable relievers this season, earned two postseason wins and was a key figure in the team’s playoff run. However, the pitcher stepped away from the club before the World Series matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays after the Dodgers announced he was dealing with “a deeply personal family matter.”
