Actor Chance Perdomo, known for his breakout roles in Prime Video’s Gen V and Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, has died following a motorcycle accident. He was 27 years old.
Perdomo’s family and representatives confirmed the news on Saturday, noting that no other individuals were involved in the crash. In a statement, they remembered him as “a passionate artist whose warmth and love for life were felt by everyone who knew him,” and asked for privacy as they mourn the loss of their “beloved son and brother.”
A Rising Star Gone Too Soon
Born in Los Angeles and raised in Southampton, England, Perdomo built a reputation as one of the most promising young actors in British and American television. He earned a BAFTA nomination in 2019 for his powerful performance in Killed By My Debt, a BBC drama that highlighted the real-life struggles of a young man trapped in the UK’s payday-loan system.
But it was his roles in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Gen V, the The Boys spinoff, that brought him global recognition. In Gen V, he portrayed Andre Anderson, a magnetic and conflicted superhero navigating power, morality, and identity in a world obsessed with fame.
Remembered for His Kindness and Energy
The producers of Gen V issued an emotional tribute, saying:
“Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense.”
Colleagues echoed that sentiment. Co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger wrote on X: “This hurts. A lot. What a young, talented actor and a great friend — gone way too soon.” Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos called him “a gifted young actor lost too early,” recalling their time working together on Sabrina.
Why His Loss Matters
Perdomo’s death has prompted reflection across the entertainment industry on the fragility of young fame and the creative potential lost too soon. His ability to balance charm with emotional depth marked him as an actor whose best work still lay ahead.
In a joint statement, Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television said, “The entire Gen V family is devastated. We extend our heartfelt thoughts and support to Chance’s family and all who loved him.”
Chance Perdomo’s legacy — of talent, kindness, and authenticity — continues to resonate with fans who saw in him not just a performer, but a light on the rise.
