Diamond Tankard: Former Bravo Star Arrested in Violent Walmart Attack in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Diamond Tankard, a former child star from Bravo’s reality series Thicker Than Water, was arrested on Friday, July 18, after allegedly attacking a woman inside a Walmart in Antioch with a sock filled with rocks, according to an arrest affidavit from the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The incident occurred at the Walmart located at 3035 Hamilton Church Road, where officers responded to reports of an assault at the self-checkout area. The victim told police that while she was scanning her items, 21-year-old Diamond Tankard approached from behind, pulled her by the hair, and struck her with a makeshift weapon—a sock weighted with rocks.

After the alleged assault, the victim reported that Tankard forcibly took her $1,500 iPhone 14 and a $900 Louis Vuitton handbag. Officers noted a visible laceration on the victim’s forehead above her left eye. Walmart staff later provided surveillance footage of the incident, which corroborated the victim’s account.

Tankard was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and theft of property. She was released shortly afterward on a $25,000 bond.

This is not Tankard’s first encounter with law enforcement. In December 2024, she was charged with attempted first-degree murder after allegedly intentionally striking a woman with her vehicle during a separate incident on November 29. That case remains pending.

Diamond Tankard gained early fame as part of the Tankard family on Thicker Than Water, a Bravo reality show that aired from 2013 to 2016. The show followed the lives of gospel-jazz musician and businessman Ben Tankard, his wife Jewel, and their children. Ben Tankard is also a pastor at Destiny Center, a church located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

The latest charges have reignited public discussion around Tankard’s troubled legal history and the broader impact of reality television stardom on young cast members after fame fades.
