Justin Parambath, Dies at 43: St. Paul’s Syrian Orthodox Church Community Mourns Musician, Volunteer, and Devoted Church Member in San Diego

San Diego – The San Diego community is mourning the loss of Justin Parambath, a musician, volunteer, and devoted church member who died at the age of 43, according to announcements shared by St. Paul’s Syrian Orthodox Church and the Church of Music.

Parambath, the son of Chev. Dn. Varghese Parambath and Saramma Parambath, was remembered by church leaders for his faith and character. In a statement, St. Paul’s Syrian Orthodox Church offered condolences to the family and commended his soul “to eternal rest in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,” reflecting the deep spiritual roots of the community he belonged to.

Beyond the church, Parambath’s impact was strongly felt in San Diego’s local arts scene. The Church of Music described him as “kind-hearted, soft-spoken, always punctual, and endlessly generous,” noting that his presence brought calm and warmth to their gatherings. Fellow musicians recalled his quiet reliability and willingness to serve without seeking recognition.

Community advocates say the response to Parambath’s passing highlights how creative and faith-based spaces often overlap as support systems. The Church of Music also used the moment to encourage mental health awareness, sharing resources such as the 988 Lifeline.

Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date. As tributes continue, many describe Justin Parambath as someone whose gentle spirit left a lasting imprint on both sacred and creative communities.
