Riaz Nandan: Brampton Mourns Resident and Former York Federation of Students President

Brampton, CA – The Brampton community is paying tribute to Riaz Nandan, a former president of the York Federation of Students (YFS), whose recent passing has left classmates, colleagues, and friends reflecting on his life of service and leadership.

Nandan, who pursued kinesiology at York University after graduating from Fletcher’s Meadow Secondary School, was widely respected for his dedication to student advocacy. During his tenure at YFS, he worked to amplify student concerns on issues ranging from affordable tuition to campus equity, earning a reputation as both a principled leader and a compassionate peer.
