Tealson L. Herrlin, 18 Years Old Resident of Upper Milford Township, Dies in Early Morning I-78 Crash in Lehigh County

Lehigh County – Authorities in Pennsylvania have identified the teenager who died in a single-vehicle crash early Thursday along Interstate 78 in Lehigh County. The victim was confirmed as Tealson L. Herrlin, an 18-year-old resident of Upper Milford Township.

According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, Herrlin was pronounced dead at 6:12 a.m. Thursday. An autopsy later determined that he died from multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was ruled accidental.

Investigators say the crash occurred shortly after 5:10 a.m. in the westbound lanes near mile marker 54.1 in Lower Macungie Township. Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police reported that Herrlin had been driving a 2005 gray Ford Mustang when the vehicle struck a traffic sign before leaving the roadway and coming to rest in a ditch.

Officials say early-morning crashes can sometimes involve reduced visibility, fatigue, or roadway conditions, though investigators have not confirmed contributing factors in this case.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by state police, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the county’s forensic center. Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage from the area to contact state police in Fogelsville.
