POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — A fatal crash on Interstate 95 northbound in Pompano Beach caused major traffic disruptions Monday afternoon, October 5, 2026, as emergency crews responded and investigators worked to determine what happened.
The crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. between Copans Road and Sample Road, according to Florida Highway Patrol dispatch information. Emergency responders, including Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol troopers, were called to the scene.

Images from the scene showed a vehicle on its side with debris scattered across the interstate. Emergency crews positioned a fire truck in the roadway while they assessed the crash and assisted those involved.
