Celebration of life: Jordyn Solny, A Resident of Los Angeles, CA

Jordyn Solny Los Angeles, CA Obituary, Death — It is with the heaviest of hearts that the Oak Park community shares the passing of Jordyn Stephanie Solny, a devoted kindergarten teacher, cherished daughter, sister, fiancée, and friend. Jordyn died in May 2025 at the age of 27.

To know Jordyn was to love her. She was the heart of the Solny family and a radiant presence in Oak Park, touching countless lives with her warmth, energy, and generosity. Her joy was infectious—whether she was welcoming friends to family dinners, dancing at concerts, or cheering on the Dodgers and Kings.

Jordyn’s lifelong dream was to become a teacher. That dream became reality when she joined her mother in the classroom at Oak Hills Elementary—her own alma mater. She earned her degree from Sonoma State University in 2019, followed by a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential in 2020. Soon after, she stepped into her dream role: a kindergarten teacher. Her classroom quickly became a place of color, care, and creativity—a reflection of who she was as a person and educator.

Outside the classroom, Jordyn embraced life. She never turned down a concert, delighted in Disneyland trips with her brother Brett, and was a fixture at sports games with her family. Her loyalty to Los Angeles sports and her boundless enthusiasm brought people together, and her laughter lit up every room.

She was the firstborn child of Jeff and Lisa Solny, who describe her as the soul of their lives. To her younger brother Brett, she was not only a sister but also a best friend. Their bond was extraordinary, marked by a lifetime of shared experiences and deep mutual love.

Among Jordyn’s lifelong relationships was the one she shared with her fiancé, Griffin. Their story began in childhood and evolved over decades—from first kisses and prom dates to moving in together and traveling through Europe in 2024. In April 2025, surrounded by friends and family, they got engaged—a joyful milestone and a reflection of a love that had grown alongside them.

Jordyn’s friendships, many of which began in her earliest years, were enduring. Her capacity for connection was rare—she made everyone feel welcome, seen, and important. Many of her closest friends became like family, embraced by the Solnys as their own.

Her passing is an unimaginable loss, but her legacy lives on in the lives of those she inspired, nurtured, and loved. Her presence—larger than life, yet so grounded and genuine—left an impression that time will not erase.
