LIMA, OHIO — The Lima community is mourning the loss of Kristina “Kris” Dawn Stratton, who passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the age of 52. Known for her unwavering faith, boundless creativity, and deep love for her family, Kris leaves behind a legacy that resonates throughout Allen County.
Born on November 10, 1972, in Killeen, Texas, Kris grew up in Lima and graduated from Bath High School in 1992—the same year she married her lifelong partner, Robert “Bob” Stratton. The couple recently celebrated 32 years of marriage, a testament to their enduring bond and shared devotion to family and faith.
Kris was a woman who found joy in simple, heartfelt moments. Friends describe her as “the heart of every gathering,” always ready with a smile and a craft project in hand. “She had a way of making everything more beautiful—whether it was a handmade card, a family meal, or a conversation,” said family friend Jennifer Stechschulte.
A proud mother and grandmother, Kris delighted in her role as “Grandma” to her many grandchildren. “Her kids and grandkids were her world,” said her daughter Aubreyanna Nichols. “She taught us how to love deeply, laugh often, and never take a single day for granted.”
Beyond her family circle, Kris’s life reflected the values of compassion and community. Her faith was central to her identity, and she was known to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, with Pastor Joe Compton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 13, at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, honoring Kris’s lifelong empathy and generosity.
