CHANDLER, AZ — A tragic drowning incident in Chandler has left a 3-year-old boy in critical condition after he was pulled unconscious from a backyard swimming pool on the evening of May 12, 2025. The incident occurred near Gilbert and Riggs roads, according to the Chandler Fire Department.
Emergency responders were dispatched after receiving a 911 call reporting an unresponsive child in a residential pool. Chandler Police were first to arrive at the scene and began CPR efforts on the young boy, with firefighters assuming care shortly after.
The child was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. His current status has not been publicly updated, and officials have not released his name due to privacy concerns.
However, online speculation has linked the child to Emilie Kiser, a well-known content creator on TikTok. Several social media users believe the child may be Trigg Kiser, her son, though authorities have not confirmed these reports, and no official statement has been issued by the Kiser family.
Details surrounding the accident remain under investigation. Authorities have not indicated how the child accessed the pool or whether a safety barrier, such as a fence or pool cover, was in place — factors that are often critical in preventing accidental drownings.
Arizona state law requires pools in homes with young children to have protective barriers. Despite this, unintentional drownings continue to occur across the state, especially during warmer months. According to the CDC, drowning is the leading cause of unintentional death among children aged 1 to 4, and backyard pools are frequently involved.
“Incidents like these remind us of how quickly tragedy can unfold,” said a representative from Chandler Fire Department. “We encourage all families to regularly inspect and reinforce their pool safety measures.”
Community members have begun expressing their concern and support online. Those familiar with Emilie Kiser’s online presence have shared messages of hope, calling for privacy and compassion as the family navigates this critical time.
The Chandler Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the drowning. As of now, no foul play is suspected, and no charges have been filed.
This incident highlights the urgent need for continued public education on water safety, particularly in regions like Arizona where swimming pools are common. Experts urge parents and caregivers to implement multiple layers of protection — including constant adult supervision, secure fencing, self-latching gates, and CPR training — to help prevent future tragedies.
As the investigation continues, the focus remains on the recovery of the young boy. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
